De voorschriften voor promovendus en paranimfen in Leiden en de VU Amsterdam
U moet u houden aan deze protocollaire voorschriften:

De promovendus wordt begeleid door twee paranimfen.

De promovendus en mannelijke paranimfen zijn gekleed in rokkostuum met zwart vest, witte strik en zwarte sokken.

De promovenda en vrouwelijke paranimfen zijn gekleed in bij de aard van de plechtigheid behorende stemmige kleding.
Bij promoties aan andere universiteiten dan hierboven aangegeven wordt een wit vest gedragen.
Een compleet rokkostuum (incl. lakschoenen) huurt u bij Hoppezak al voor € 115,-.
Rules for the PhD candidate and assistents at Leiden University and VU Amsterdam
You must obey the following rules:

The PhD candidate must be accompanied by two assistants (paranimfs).

Male PhD candidates and assistants must wear a tailcoat with black waistcoat, white bowtie and black socks.

Female PhD candidates and paranimfs must dress in appropriate attire for the ceremony.
PhD defences at Universities other than Leiden and VU Amsterdam require a white waistcoat instead of black.
All of the required items can be rented at Hoppezak. Complete with patent leather shoes. The rentalcosts will be € 115,-.
